Note 1
This is the 45th Surah of the Qur’an and it has 37 verses. The brief verses in this Surah take us along powerful concepts with Tasreef. All peoples, eventually, will kneel down before the laws of their Lord.
With the Glorious Name of God, the Instant and Sustaining Source of all Mercy and Kindness

45:2 The revelation of the Book is from God, the Noble, the Wise.

45:3 ان فى السموت والارض لءايت للمؤمنين
45:3 Inna fee alssamawati waal-ardilaayatin lilmu/mineena
45:3 In the heavens and the earth are signs for those who acknowledge.
45:3 In the heavens and the earth are signs for the believers.
45:3 Behold, in the heavens as well as on earth there are indeed messages for all who [are willing to] believe.2
Note 2
Cf. 2:164, where the term ayat has been rendered by me in the same way, inasmuch as those visible signs of a consciously creative Power convey a spiritual message to man.
45:3 The heavens and the earth are full of proofs for the believers.,
45:3 In the heavens and earth are signs for all who are willing to attain conviction.
45:4 وفى خلقكم وما يبث من دابة ءايت لقوم يوقنون
45:4 Wafee khalqikum wama yabuththu min dabbatinayatun liqawmin yooqinoona
45:4 In your creation, and what creatures He puts forth are signs for people who are certain.
45:4 And in your creation, and what creatures He puts forth are signs for people who are certain.
45:4 And in your own nature, and in [that of] all the animals which He scatters [over the earth] there are messages for people who are endowed with inner certainty.3
Note 3
Cf. 7:185 and the corresponding note. The intricate structure of human and animal bodies, and the life-preserving instincts with which all living creatures have been endowed, make it virtually impossible to assume that all this has developed "by accident"; and if we assume, as we must, that a creative purpose underlies this development, we must conclude, too, that it has been willed by a conscious Power which creates all natural phenomena "in accordance with an inner truth" (see note 11 on 10:5).
45:4 Also in your creation, and the creation of all the animals, there are proofs for people who are certain.,
45:4 And in your own creative design, and in all the animals that He has spread widely, there are signs for those who explore and attain certainty.
45:5 واختلف اليل والنهار وما انزل الله من السماء من رزق فاحيا به الارض بعد موتها وتصريف الريح ءايت لقوم يعقلون

45:5 The alternation of the night and the day, and what God sends down from the sky of provisions to revive the land after its death, and the changing of the winds, are signs for a people who understand.
45:5 And the alternation of the night and the day, and what God sends down from the heaven of provisions to revive the land after its death, and the dispatching of the winds, are signs for a people who comprehend.
45:5 And in the succession of night and day, and in the means of subsistence4 which God sends down from the skies, giving life thereby to the earth after it had been lifeless, and in the change of the winds: [in all this] there are messages for people who use their reason.
Note 4
I.e., rain, with the symbolic connotation of physical and spiritual grace often attached to it in the Qur'an.
45:5 Also, the alternation of the night and the day, and the provisions that GOD sends down from the sky to revive dead lands, and the manipulation of the winds; all these are proofs for people who understand.,
45:5 And in the alternation of the night and the day, and in the means of sustenance which God sends down from the height, reviving the earth which had been lifeless, and in the change of winds and seasons - in all this are signs for people who use their reason.

Which Hadith Besides the Quran?45:6 These are God's signs that We recite to you with truth. So, in which hadith, after God and His signs, do they acknowledge?2
45:6 These are the revelations of God, We recite them to you with the truth. So, in which narrative after God and His revelations do they believe?
45:6 These messages of God do We convey unto thee, setting forth the truth. In what other tiding, if not in God's messages, will they, then, believe?5
Note 5
Lit., "in what tiding after God and His messages".
Which Hadith?45:6 These are GOD's revelations that we recite to you truthfully. In which Hadith other than GOD and His revelations do they believe?1 ,
Note 1
God condemns "Hadith" by name, and informs us that it is a blasphemous fabrication.
45:6 These are the verses of God We convey to you with truth. Then, in what HADITH, if not in God and His verses, will they believe?
45:7 Waylun likulli affakin atheemin
45:7 Woe to every sinful fabricator.
45:7 Woe to every sinful fabricator.
45:7 Woe unto every sinful self-deceiver6
Note 6
The term affak, which literally signifies a "liar" - and, particularly, a "habitual liar" - has here the connotation of "one who lies to himself" because he is ma'fuk, i.e., "perverted in his intellect and judgment" (Jawhari).
45:7 Woe to every fabricator, guilty.,
45:7 Woe to every fabricating impostor!2
45:8 يسمع ءايت الله تتلى عليه ثم يصر مستكبرا كان لم يسمعها فبشره بعذاب اليم

45:8 He hears God's signs being recited to him, then he persists arrogantly, as if he never heard them. Give him news of a painful retribution.
45:8 He hears the revelations of God being recited to him, then he persists arrogantly, as if he never heard them. Give him news of a painful retribution.
45:8 who hears God's messages when they are conveyed to him, and yet, as though he had not heard them, persists in his haughty disdain! Hence, announce unto him grievous suffering
45:8 The one who hears GOD's revelations recited to him, then insists arrogantly on his way, as if he never heard them. Promise him a painful retribution.,
45:8 (The impostor) who hears God’s verses conveyed to him, yet he is haughtily obstinate, as though he never heard them. So, announce to him grievous punishment.
45:9 واذا علم من ءايتنا شيا اتخذها هزوا اولئك لهم عذاب مهين
45:9 Wa-itha AAalima min ayatinashay-an ittakhathaha huzuwan ola-ika lahumAAathabun muheenun
45:9 If he learns anything from Our signs, he makes fun of them. For these will be a humiliating retribution.
45:9 And if he learns anything from Our revelations, he takes it in mockery. For these will be a humiliating retribution.
45:9 for when he does become aware of any of Our messages, he makes them a target of his mockery! For all such there is shameful suffering in store.
45:9 When he learns anything about our revelations, he mocks them. These have incurred a shameful retribution.,
45:9 For when he learns anything of Our verses, he belittles them. Theirs is a humiliating punishment in store.
45:10 من ورائهم جهنم ولا يغنى عنهم ما كسبوا شيا ولا ما اتخذوا من دون الله اولياء ولهم عذاب عظيم
45:10 Min wara-ihim jahannamu walayughnee AAanhum ma kasaboo shay-an wala maittakhathoo min dooni Allahi awliyaa walahumAAathabun AAatheemun
45:10 Waiting for them is hell. What they earned will not help them, nor those whom they have taken as allies besides God, and for them is a terrible retribution.
45:10 Waiting for them is Hell. And that which they earned will not help them, nor those whom they have taken as allies besides God, and for them is a terrible retribution.
45:10 Hell is ahead of them; and all that they may have gained [in this world] shall be of no avail whatever to them, and neither shall any of those things which, instead of God, they have come to regard as their protectors:7 for, awesome suffering awaits them.
Note 7
I.e., anything to which they may attribute a quasi-divine influence on their lives, whether it be false deities or false values, e.g., wealth, power, social status, etc.
45:10 Awaiting them is Gehenna. Their earnings will not help them, nor the idols they had set up beside GOD. They have incurred a terrible retribution.,
45:10 Ahead of them is Hell, and what they have earned will not avail them, nor will the ‘awlia’ (saints, sufis, ‘imams’, clergy) whom they had chosen besides God. Theirs will be an awesome suffering. [29:24, 79:36, 82:16]
45:11 هذا هدى والذين كفروا بايت ربهم لهم عذاب من رجز اليم

Divine Signs45:11 This is guidance. Those who reject the signs of their Lord, for them is an affliction of a painful retribution.
45:11 This is a guidance. And those who reject the revelations of their Lord, for them is an affliction of a painful retribution.
45:11 [To pay heed to God's signs and messages:] this is [the meaning of] guidance; on the other hand,8 for those who are bent on denying the truth of their Sustainer's messages there is grievous suffering in store as an outcome of [their] vileness.9
Note 8
Lit., "and" or "but".
45:11 This is a beacon, and those who disbelieve in these revelations of their Lord have incurred condemnation and a painful retribution.,
45:11 This is a beacon. And for those who reject the revelations of their Lord, is a painful retribution.
45:12 الله الذى سخر لكم البحر لتجرى الفلك فيه بامره ولتبتغوا من فضله ولعلكم تشكرون

45:12 God is the One who committed the sea in your service, so that the ships can sail in it by His command, and that you may seek of His provisions, and that you may be appreciative.
45:12 God is the One who commissioned the sea in your service, so that the ships can run in it by His command, and that you may seek of His provisions, and that you may be thankful.
45:12 IT IS GOD who has made the sea subservient [to His laws, so that it be of use] to you10 so that ships might sail through it at His behest, and that you might seek to obtain [what you need] of His bounty, and that you might have cause to be grateful.
Note 10
For the reason of the above interpolation, see surah 14 note 46 .
45:12 GOD is the One who committed the sea in your service, so that the ships can roam it in accordance with His laws. You thus seek His provisions, that you may be appreciative.,
45:12 God is the One Who has made the sea of service to you that the ships may run thereon by His command, and that you may seek of His bounty, and that you may be grateful.
45:13 وسخر لكم ما فى السموت وما فى الارض جميعا منه ان فى ذلك لءايت لقوم يتفكرون

45:13 He committed in your service all that is in the heavens and in the earth; all from Him. In that are signs for a people who reflect.
45:13 And He commissioned in your service what is in the heavens and what is in the earth;all from Him. In that are signs for a people who reflect.
45:13 And He has made subservient to you, [as a gift] from Himself, all that is in the heavens and on earth:11 in this, behold, there are messages indeed for people who think!
Note 11
I.e., by endowing man, alone among all living beings, with a creative mind and, thus, with the ability to make conscious use of the nature that surrounds him and is within him.
45:13 He committed in your service everything in the heavens and the earth; all from Him. These are proofs for people who reflect.,
45:13 And He has made subservient to you, from Himself, all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth. Therein, are signs for people who reflect.
45:14 قل للذين ءامنوا يغفروا للذين لا يرجون ايام الله ليجزى قوما بما كانوا يكسبون

45:14 Say to those who acknowledged: they should forgive those who do not look forward to the days of God. He will fully recompense people for whatever they have earned.
45:14 Say to those who believed to forgive those who do not look forward to the days of God. He will recompense a people for whatever they have earned.
45:14 Tell all who have attained to faith that they should forgive those who do not believe in the coming of the Days of God,12 [since it is] for Him [alone] to requite people for whatever they may have earned.
Note 12
Lit., "who do not hope for [i.e., expect] the Days of God", implying that they do not believe in them. As regards the meaning of "the Days of God", see surah 14 note 5.
45:14 Tell those who believed to forgive those who do not expect the days of GOD. He will fully pay everyone for whatever they have earned.,
45:14 Tell those who have chosen to believe, to forgive the ones who do not hope for the Days of God. It is for Him alone to recompense each people for what they have earned.3
Note 3
Yaghfir, Ghafarahand derivatives= Forgive = Guarding against detriment = Protect from the harmful effects of misdeeds. Days of God = Life Hereafter = The Day of Resurrection, Judgment = When people establish the Divine Rule on earth. 14:5
45:15 من عمل صلحا فلنفسه ومن اساء فعليها ثم الى ربكم ترجعون
45:15 Man AAamila salihanfalinafsihi waman asaa faAAalayha thumma ilarabbikum turjaAAoona
45:15 Whoever works good does so for himself, and whoever works evil will suffer it. Then to your Lord you will be returned.
45:15 Whoever works good does so for himself, and whoever works evil will suffer it. Then to your Lord you will be returned.
45:15 Whoever does what is just and right, does so for his own good; and whoever does evil, does so to his own hurt; and in the end unto your Sustainer you all will be brought back.
45:15 Whoever works righteousness does so for his own good, and whoever works evil does so to his own detriment. To your Lord you will be returned.,
45:15 Whoever helps others, helps his own ‘self’. And whoever hurts others, hurts his own ‘self’. And in the end all of you will be brought back to your Lord.4
Note 4
'Amal-e-Saaleh = A good deed = Fulfilling others' needs = Increase human potential = Take corrective action = Help the individual or society = Doing collective good = Grow in goodness. 'Amal-e-Su = An evil deed = Disrupting someone’s life = Hurting others = Causing imbalance = Promoting injustice and inequity
45:16 ولقد ءاتينا بنى اسرءيل الكتب والحكم والنبوة ورزقنهم من الطيبت وفضلنهم على العلمين
45:16 Walaqad atayna banee isra-eelaalkitaba waalhukma waalnnubuwwatawarazaqnahum mina alttayyibati wafaddalnahumAAala alAAalameena
45:16 We had given the Children of Israel the book and the judgment, and the prophethood, and We provided them with good provisions; and We preferred them over the worlds.
45:16 And We had given the Children of Israel the Book, and the judgment, and the prophethood, and We provided them with good provisions; and We preferred them over the worlds.
45:16 AND, INDEED, [already] unto the children of Israel did We vouchsafe revelation, and wisdom, and prophethood;13 and We provided for them sustenance out of the good things of life, and favoured them above all other people [of their time].14
Note 13
Sc., "in the same way and for the same purpose as We now bestow this revelation of the Qur'an" - thus stressing the fact of continuity in all divine revelation.
45:16 We have given the Children of Israel the scripture, wisdom, and prophethood, and provided them with good provisions; we bestowed upon them more blessings than any other people.,
45:16 We gave to the Children of Israel the scripture, the rule, and a succession of Prophets, and provided them with decent things and bestowed upon them bounties more than other nations of the time. [3:78, 6:90]
45:17 وءاتينهم بينت من الامر فما اختلفوا الا من بعد ما جاءهم العلم بغيا بينهم ان ربك يقضى بينهم يوم القيمة فيما كانوا فيه يختلفون
45:17 Waataynahum bayyinatinmina al-amri fama ikhtalafoo illa min baAAdi majaahumu alAAilmu baghyan baynahum inna rabbaka yaqdeebaynahum yawma alqiyamati feema kanoo feehiyakhtalifoona
45:17 We gave them proof in the matter, but then they disputed after the knowledge had come to them, out of jealousy amongst themselves. Your Lord will judge them on the day of resurrection regarding everything that they have disputed.
45:17 And We gave them clarity in the matter, but then they disputed after the knowledge had come to them, out of jealousy among themselves. Your Lord will judge them on the Day of Resurrection regarding everything that they have disputed.
45:17 And We gave them clear indications of the purpose [of faith];15 and it was only after all this knowledge had been vouchsafed to them that they began, out of mutual jealousy, to hold divergent views:16 [but,] verily, thy Sustainer will judge between them on Resurrection Day regarding all whereon they were wont to differ.17
Note 15
This, I believe, is the meaning of the phrase min al-amr in the above context, although most of the classical commentators are of the opinion that amr signifies here "religion" (din), and interpret the whole phrase, accordingly, as "of what pertains to religion". Since, however, the common denominator in all the possible meanings of the term amr - e.g., "command", "injunction", "ordinance", "matter [of concern]", "event", "action", etc. - is the element of purpose, whether implied or explicit, we may safely assume that this is the meaning of the term in the above elliptic phrase, which obviously alludes to the purpose underlying all divine revelation and, consequently, man's faith in it. Now from the totality of the Quranic teachings it becomes apparent that the innermost purpose of all true faith is, firstly, a realization of the existence of God and of every human being's responsibility to Him; secondly, man's attaining to a consciousness of his own dignity as a positive element - a logically necessary element - in God's plan of creation and, thus, achieving freedom from all manner of superstitions and irrational fears; and, lastly, making man aware that whatever good or evil he does is but done for the benefit, or to the detriment, of his own self (as expressed in verse 15 above).
Note 17
Lit., "thereafter" or "in the end" (thumma) - i.e., after the failure of the earlier communities to realize the ideal purpose of faith in their actual mode of life.
45:17 We have given them herein clear commandments. Ironically, they did not dispute this until the knowledge had come to them. This is due to jealousy on their part. Surely, your Lord will judge them on the Day of Resurrection regarding everything they have disputed.,
45:17 And We gave them a clear set of commandments. Yet, they fell for differences through rivalry among themselves after knowledge had come to them. Your Lord will judge between them on the Resurrection Day concerning all they differed.
45:18 ثم جعلنك على شريعة من الامر فاتبعها ولا تتبع اهواء الذين لا يعلمون
45:18 Thumma jaAAalnaka AAalashareeAAatin mina al-amri faittabiAAha walatattabiAA ahwaa allatheena la yaAAlamoona
45:18 Then We have established you on the correct path; so follow it and do not follow the desires of those who do not know.
45:18 Then We have established you on the path of things; so follow it and do not follow the desires of those who do not know.
45:18 And, finally, [O Muhammad,] We have set thee on a way by which the purpose [of faith] may be fulfilled:18 so follow thou this [way], and follow not the likes and dislikes of those who do not know [the truth].19
Note 18
Lit., "on a way of the purpose [of faith]": see note on verse 17 above. It is to be borne in mind that the literal meaning of the term shari'ah is "the way to a watering-place", and since water is indispensable for all organic life, this term has in time come to denote a "system of laws", both moral and practical, which shows man the way towards spiritual fulfillment and social welfare: hence, "religious law" in the widest sense of the term. (See in this connection note 66 on the second part of 5:48.)
Note 19
I.e., who are not - or not primarily - motivated by God-consciousness and, hence, are swayed only by what they themselves regard as "right" in accordance with worldly, changing circumstances.
45:18 We then appointed you to establish the correct laws; you shall follow this, and do not follow the wishes of those who do not know.,
45:18 And finally, We appointed you (O Messenger) to establish clear commandments about all matters. So you shall follow this way, and not follow the whims of those who do not know (the truth).5
Note 5
42:13. Shari’ah = The way to a watering place = A flowing stream of pure water = Clear commandments. The flowing stream indicates that the commandments are not stagnant. While the basics remain unchanged, minor details will be flexible with changing times and needs
45:19 انهم لن يغنوا عنك من الله شيا وان الظلمين بعضهم اولياء بعض والله ولى المتقين
45:19 Innahum lan yughnoo AAanka mina Allahishay-an wa-inna alththalimeena baAAduhumawliyao baAAdin waAllahu waliyyualmuttaqeena
45:19 They cannot help you against God in the least. The transgressors are allies to one another, while God is the Protector of the righteous.
45:19 They cannot help you against God in the least. And the transgressors are allies to one another, while God is the Protector of the righteous.
45:19 Behold, they could never be of any avail to thee if thou wert to defy the will of God20 for, verily, such evildoers are but friends and protectors of one another, whereas God is the Protector of all who are conscious of Him.
Note 20
Lit., "against [i.e., "in defiance of"] God".
45:19 They cannot help you at all against GOD. It is the transgressors who ally themselves with one another, while GOD is the Lord of the righteous.,
45:19 They cannot avail you in the least against God. The wrongdoers are friends to one another, while God is the protecting Friend of those who are observant in their journey of life.
45:20 هذا بصئر للناس وهدى ورحمة لقوم يوقنون

45:20 This is a physical evidence for the people, and guidance and a mercy for a people who are certain.
45:20 This is a physical evidence for the people, and a guidance and a mercy for a people who are certain.
45:20 This [revelation, then,]21 is a means of insight for mankind, and a guidance and grace unto people who are endowed with inner certainty.
Note 21
I.e., the Qur'an, which unfolds to man the purpose of all faith.
45:20 This provides enlightenments for the people, and guidance, and mercy for those who are certain.,
45:20 The messages right before you are a means of vision and insight for mankind, and a guidance and a grace for people who wish to live by conviction rather than uncertainty.
45:21 ام حسب الذين اجترحوا السيات ان نجعلهم كالذين ءامنوا وعملوا الصلحت سواء محياهم ومماتهم ساء ما يحكمون

45:21 Or do those who work evil expect that We would treat them the same as those who acknowledge and promote reforms, in their present life and their death? Miserable is how they judge.
45:21 Or do those who work evil expect that We would treat them the same as those who believe and do good works, in their present life and their death? Miserable is how they judge.
45:21 Now as for those who indulge in sinful doings - do they think that We place them, both in their life and their death, on an equal footing with those who have attained to faith and do righteous deeds? Bad, indeed, is their judgment:22
Note 22
The meaning is twofold: "that We consider them to be equal with those who ", etc., and "that We shall deal with them in the same manner as We deal with those who ", etc. The reference to the intrinsic difference between these two categories with regard to "their life and their death" points not merely to the moral quality of their worldly existence, but also, on the one hand, to the inner peace and tranquility with which a true believer faces life's tribulations and the moment of death, and on the other, to the nagging anxiety which so often accompanies spiritual nihilism, and the "fear of the unknown" at the time of dying.
45:21 Do those who work evil expect that we will treat them in the same manner as those who believe and lead a righteous life? Can their life and their death be the same? Wrong indeed is their judgment.,2
45:21 What! Do those who disrupt others’ lives think that We will treat them, in life and death, like believers and helpers of humanity? Evil is the judgment they make!
45:22 وخلق الله السموت والارض بالحق ولتجزى كل نفس بما كسبت وهم لا يظلمون
45:22 Wakhalaqa Allahu alssamawatiwaal-arda bialhaqqi walitujzakullu nafsin bima kasabat wahum la yuthlamoona
45:22 God created the heavens and the earth with truth, and so that every person may be recompensed for whatever he/she earned, and they will not be wronged.
45:22 And God created the heavens and the earth with the truth, and so that every soul may be recompensed for whatever it earned, and they will not be wronged.
45:22 for, God has created the heavens and the earth in accordance with [an inner] truth,23 and [has therefore willed] that every human being shall be recompensed for what he has earned and none shall be wronged.
Note 23
See note 11 on 10:5. The implication is that without a differentiation between right and wrong - or true and false - there would be no "inner truth" in the concept of a divinely-planned creation.
45:22 GOD created the heavens and the earth for a specific purpose, in order to pay each soul for whatever it earned, without the least injustice.,3
Note 3
God granted us this life as a precious chance to redeem ourselves, denounce our ancient alliance with Satan, and rejoinGod's kingdom. See Introduction andAppendix 7 .
45:22 God has created the heavens and earth with a definite purpose, and in order that every ‘self’ may be compensated for what it has earned. And no injustice will be done to them.6

45:23 HAST THOU ever considered [the kind of man] who makes his own desires his deity, and whom God has [thereupon] let go astray, knowing [that his mind is closed to all guidance],24 and whose hearing and heart He has sealed, and upon whose sight He has placed a veil?25 Who, then, could guide him after God [has abandoned him]? Will you not, then, bethink yourselves?
Note 24
Thus Razi, evidently reflecting the views of Zamakhshari , which have been quoted at length in my note 4 on 14:4.
Common Form of Idolatry: The Ego As A god45:23 Have you noted the one whose god is his ego? Consequently, GOD sends him astray, despite his knowledge, seals his hearing and his mind, and places a veil on his eyes. Who then can guide him, after such a decision by GOD? Would you not take heed?,
45:23 Have you ever noted him who makes his desires his god? Consequently, God lets him go astray despite his knowledge, seals up his hearing and his heart, and places a veil on his sight. Then who will lead him after he has left God? Will you not then remember (this admonition)? [17:36, 32:9, 46:26]

45:24 And they said: "There is nothing except this worldly life; we die and we live and nothing destroys us except the passing of time!" And they have no knowledge about this; they only conjecture.
45:24 And yet they say: There is nothing beyond our life in this world. We die as we come to life,26 and nothing but time destroys us." But of this they have no knowledge whatever: they do nothing but guess.
Note 26
I.e., by accident, or as an outcome of blind forces of nature.
45:24 They said, "We only live this life; we live and die and only time causes our death!" They have no sure knowledge about this; they only conjecture.,
45:24 And yet they say, "There is nothing beyond our life of this world. We die as we come to life (per chance) and nothing destroys us but Time." But of that they have no knowledge. They do nothing but make a wild guess.

45:25 And when Our clear revelations are recited to them, their only argument is to say: "Then bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful."
45:25 And [so,] whenever Our messages are conveyed to them in all their clarity, their only argument is this:27 Bring forth our forefathers [as witnesses], if what you claim is true!"28
Note 27
Lit., "their argument is nothing but that they say".
45:25 When our revelations are recited to them, clearly, their only argument is to say, "Bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful.",
45:25 And when Our revelations are conveyed to them in all clarity, their only argument is this, "Bring back our forefathers if you are truthful."

45:27 And to God is the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. And on the Day the Hour comes to pass, on that Day the falsifiers will lose.
45:27 For, God's is the dominion over the heavens and the earth; and on the Day when the Last Hour dawns - on that Day will be lost all who [in their lifetime] tried to reduce to nothing [whatever they could not understand].29
Note 29
I.e., whatever they could not "prove" by direct observation or calculation. For the above rendering of al-mubtilun, see surah 29 note 47.

45:31 But as for those who were bent on denying the truth, [they will be told:] Were not My messages conveyed to you? And withal, you gloried in your arrogance, and so you became people lost in sin:
