Lost indeed are they who consider it a lie that they will have to meet God -till the Last Hour suddenly comes upon them, [and] they cry, "Alas for us, that we disregarded it!" - for they shall bear on their backs the burden of their sins:* oh, how evil the load with which they shall be burdened!

lest any human being* should say [on Judgment Day], “Alas for me for having been remiss in what is due to God, and for having been indeed one of those who scoffed [at the truth]!"

ان تقول نفس يحسرتى على ما فرطت فى جنب الله وان كنت لمن السخرين

And neither allow thy hand to remain shackled to thy neck,* nor stretch it forth to the utmost limit [of thy capacity], lest thou find thyself blamed [by thy dependants], or even destitute.

for, unto Him belong all [beings] that are in the heavens and on earth; and those that are with Him* are never too proud to worship Him and never grow weary [thereof]:

2:167

And then those followers shall say: "Would that we had a second chance [in life],* so that we could disown them as they have disowned us!" Thus will God show them their works [in a manner that will cause them] batter regrets; but they will not come out of the fire.*

وقال الذين اتبعوا لو ان لنا كرة فنتبرا منهم كما تبرءوا منا كذلك يريهم الله اعملهم حسرت عليهم وما هم بخرجين من النار

3:156

O you who have attained to faith! Be not like those who are bent on denying the truth and say of their brethren [who die] after having set out on a journey to faraway places* or gone forth to war, "Had they but remained with us, they would not have died," or, "they would not have been slain" - for God will cause such thoughts to become* a source of bitter regret in their hearts, since it is God who grants life and deals death. And God sees all that you do.

يايها الذين ءامنوا لا تكونوا كالذين كفروا وقالوا لاخونهم اذا ضربوا فى الارض او كانوا غزى لو كانوا عندنا ما ماتوا وما قتلوا ليجعل الله ذلك حسرة فى قلوبهم والله يحى ويميت والله بما تعملون بصير

8:36

Behold, those who are bent on denying the truth are spending their riches in order to turn others away from the path of God; and they will go on spending them until they become [a source of] intense regret for them; and then they will be overcome! And those who [until their death] have denied the truth shall be gathered unto hell,

ان الذين كفروا ينفقون امولهم ليصدوا عن سبيل الله فسينفقونها ثم تكون عليهم حسرة ثم يغلبون والذين كفروا الى جهنم يحشرون

19:39

hence, warn them of [the coming of] the Day of Regrets, when everything will have been decided-for as yet they are heedless, and they do not believe [in it].

wanźrhm ywm alHsrẗ aź qDy alamr whm fy ğflẗ whm la yamnwn

وانذرهم يوم الحسرة اذ قضى الامر وهم فى غفلة وهم لا يؤمنون

35:8

Is, then, he to whom the evil of his own doings is [so] alluring that [in the end] he regards it as good [anything but a follower of Satan]? For, verily, God lets go astray him that wills [to go astray], just as He guides him that wills [to be guided].* Hence, [O believer,] do not waste thyself in sorrowing over them: verily, God has full knowledge of all that they do!

افمن زين له سوء عمله فرءاه حسنا فان الله يضل من يشاء ويهدى من يشاء فلا تذهب نفسك عليهم حسرت ان الله عليم بما يصنعون

36:30

OH, THE REGRETS that [most] human beings will have to bear!* Never has an apostle come to them without their deriding him!

yaHsrẗ Aly alAbad ma yatyhm mn rswl ala kanwa bh ysthzawn

يحسرة على العباد ما ياتيهم من رسول الا كانوا به يستهزءون

69:50

yet, behold, this [rejection] will indeed become a source of bitter regret for all who deny the truth [of God's revelation] –

وانه لحسرة على الكفرين
